The Huts

Our shepherds huts offer couples the perfect romantic getaway or a tranquil retreat for a solo traveller. Nestled amongst apple and pear trees in our orchard, they offer an escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Sit back, enjoy the great outdoors, and make time for yourself under the beautiful canopy of Exmoor’s dark skies.

Listen to your favourite songs on the radio while you sip a cold beer or glass of fizz from the fridge, or make yourself an indulgent hot chocolate on the gas hob. Light a fire in the cosy wood burner to keep you warm and toasty on colder evenings and truly unwind after a day exploring Exmoor. Our comfy double beds with luxurious cotton bedding promise a fantastic night’s sleep in the peaceful setting of our orchard.

We know that compost loos and cold showers often go hand-in-hand with glamping…but not here! At Orchard Escapes Exmoor, you have a private heated shower room 30 metres from your hut. Enjoy an invigorating hot shower with cruelty-free Faith in Nature toiletries and plump, soft towels provided.

Each hut has a private outdoor space with a firepit and comfortable seating, perfect for cosying up under the stars, toasting marshmallows or enjoying alfresco cooking and dining. Relax and unwind in the most romantic setting in our luxury wood-fired hot tub. Lie back and marvel at the enchanting night sky as it reveals a spellbinding show of sparkling stars to the soothing sounds of the local wildlife.

Sustainable glamping is the best way to experience nature, and at Orchard Escapes Exmoor, we’re entirely off-grid, with solar lighting, phone charging and a 12v fridge. We leave grassy areas of the orchard to grow wild to welcome insects and other wildlife and encourage you to pick apples, pears and plums in the autumn to enjoy a taste of Exmoor.

What We Offer

Orchard Escape Exmoors’ huts are a home-away-from-home with bed linen, shower room towels and all of the crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils here for you to use. We only ask that you supply your own towels for the wood-fired hot tub.

Logs for the wood burner are provided free of charge for stays from 1^st September to the 30^th April. If you require logs outside of this time, purchase them directly from us at a small charge of £5 per bag. Wood or charcoal for the firepit is not included in the price. Both are available to purchase directly from us or feel free to purchase your own.

Please note there is no running water in our huts. However, mains tap water is available from the kitchen, where you will also find washing-up facilities. The kitchen is a shared facility, so we kindly ask that our guests leave it as they’d like to find it.

There’s no need for your dogs to miss out on the fun! Orchard Escapes offers dog-friendly glamping on Exmoor, permitting 2 small dogs or 1 medium dog in our huts for an additional charge of £10 per dog per stay. There’s plenty of room for them to play in the orchard, and with endless moorland and coastline to roam, they’ll enjoy their visit to Exmoor every bit as much as you.

We have breakfast hampers available (from £7.50 per person) – Full English and Continental, featuring an array of locally sourced produce, including eggs from our farm, meat from Little Oak Farm (5 miles down the road), bread from Glenmore Bakery in Minehead and tea/coffee from Miles. Please give at least 24 hours notice if you wish to order a hamper, and we will prepare it for you to collect from the kitchen or deliver it to the yurt at your preferred time.
